Jaya Vasudevan, MD

GI Fellow - PGY5

Personal Statement:

What are your hobbies and favorite activities outside of medicine?

  • Hiking, national parks, traveling, long dinners with friends, reading/listening to audiobooks, watching TV, and lazing about with the husband and dog.

What do you like about San Antonio, or what are you most excited to experience in San Antonio?

  • I’m most excited to explore the excellent food scene here, as well as checking out the parks/trails (I currently have my eye on the Mission Trails). As a native of the Northeast, I’m also looking forward to training in the year-round sunny weather!

Why would you recommend UTHSA GI Fellowship?

  • I knew UT Health San Antonio to be a well-established institution that serves a large and diverse patient population, while providing strong, well rounded clinical training in multiple GI specialties. What made this program stand out to me was the warmth and camaraderie that emanated from the faculty and fellows during my interview. Being able to train at an impressive institution with equally impressive (and kind) individuals had me sold!
