Personal Statement:

Dr. Sandeep Patel joined UT Health San Antonio as a faculty member in the gastroenterology division after receiving advanced training under internationally-recognized endoscopist Dr. Joseph Geenen of the Medical College of Wisconsin in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, a specialized form of gastrointestinal endoscopy used to diagnose and treat many different disorders of the pancreas and the bile ducts. Skilled in both ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound, Dr. Patel serves as chief of pancreato-biliary endoscopy at the medical school. Dr. Patel has rapidly established his practice as a regional referral center for complex pancreatic and biliary problems, instituting a new and rapidly growing pancreas clinic and successfully bringing state-of-the-art and cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic technologies to San Antonio, including pancreatic and biliary manometry and intra-ductal pancreatic and biliary endoscopy.
