Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA)
The Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) is experiencing rapid growth and recruiting a physician assistant and/or nurse practitioner to provide services at the UT Multispecialty & Research Hospital. This position holds an appointment of Faculty Specialist.
This position involves night shift clinical work on non-house staff services at UT Health Multispecialty & Research Hospital (MSRH), to provide cross coverage for inpatients and admissions.
Qualified candidates must have successfully completed a Masters of Science in Nursing or Masters of Physician Assistant Studies degree program, must have relevant state licensure, and have or be able to obtain a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license (fee-exempt option is available). Prior experience in the inpatient setting is preferred, but not required.
Moonlighting Physicians
The Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT San Antonio (UTSA) is currently seeking physicians for available moonlighting opportunities. These positions will hold an appointment of Specialist.
These positions involve hourly clinical work on house staff and non-house staff services at University Hospital, as well as participating in medical student education when covering teaching teams. The shifts will consist mostly of nights and weekends.
Qualified candidates must have a MD or DO degree, have completed 3 years of an ACGME-certified Internal Medicine residency and be board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). In addition, must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board and maintain a certification by the Drug Enforcement Administration for credentials with UTSA and University Hospital.

Clinical Track & Academic Hospitalists
The University of Texas San Antonio, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine seeks Clinical Track and Academic Track Hospitalists to provide services at University Hospital. These positions hold the rank of Assistant Professor/Clinical, Associate Professor/Clinical or Professor/Clinical dependent on the applicant’s level of experience.
Clinical Track Hospitalist positions involve clinical work on housestaff and non-housestaff services on our physician-only service lines to include admissions and cross-cover. Providing clinical care to patients throughout their hospital stay, communicating with patients and their families, relaying chosen course of treatment to each patient’s physician, coordinating with other physicians to ensure that treatment fits with the patient’s medical history and health needs, keeping physicians updated on their patient’s condition. Teaching and instruction of medical students, residents and fellows.
