Paolo Casali, M.D. publishes paper in Nature Communications

Congratulations to Paolo Casali, MD for this paper recently published in Nature Communications. Summarized in Dr. Casali’s own words:

This paper reports the first “discovery” of the mechanism of class-switch DNA recombination to IgD (by microhomology-mediated DNA end-joining, very different from CSR to IgG, IgA or IgE (by non-homologous DNA end-joining), as well as the very first demonstration of a critical (non-fungible) role of the homologous recombination Rad52 factor in mammalian DNA repair (mouse and human B cells).
