Flow Cytometry Laboratory
The Flow Cytometry laboratory is part of the South Texas Reference Laboratories (STRL) located in the Department of Pathology at the University Of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. The laboratory develops and offers the latest in diagnostic tests in clinical flow cytometry designed to provide support in the diagnosis and management of hematological disorders (Test Menu). The Flow Cytometry Laboratory assists faculty and staff of the Health Science Center as well as outside hospitals, clinics and physicians. In addition to analyzing clinical samples, the laboratory is active in experimental studies and has the facilities for research and clinical trials.
In line with the mission of the Health Science Center, the laboratory takes an active role in the teaching of students, residents and fellows pursuing a career in the medical profession. The Flow Cytometry Laboratory is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).
