The subjects offered include basic chemistry, gross anatomy, microanatomy, fixation, embedding techniques, microtomy, special stains, muscle histochemistry, immunofluorescence, electron microscopy, and cytology techniques. Students will attend classes/clinical rotations Tuesday thru Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Forty percent of their time will be in the academic classroom and the other time will be in the clinical rotation setting for clinical training throughout the year. Total cost of the program is approximately $1,000 out of the trainee’s pocket. The expenditures should cover textbooks, I.D. badges, HT Registry application if they decide to sit for it, and parking permits. Applications can be submitted until May 1st for the upcoming year. Applicants are interviewed and scored on their interview performance, grades, laboratory experience, and letters of recommendation. Applicants with the highest scores will be considered for the program which starts mid-August. Students will graduate in June of the following year and are eligible to sit for the HT Registry upon graduation.
