Dr. Myriam Barragan is Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UT Health San Antonio. She received her MD degree as well as completed 4 years of pediatric residency training in Bogotá, Colombia. After moving to the US, she completed her pediatric residency at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso and fellowship in Pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Before joining UT Health San Antonio, she served as the Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Nemours Children’s Health in Pensacola, Florida and was faculty at the Baylor college of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

After joining UTHCSA she has organized and started wireless pH/ impedance studies; she is leading and organizing multidisciplinary Aerodigestive Program and in the process of starting the service of anorectal manometry and rectal suction biopsy.
