Katherine Cashen, DO

Dr Katherine Cashen is a pediatric intensivist and cardiac intensivist at Duke University. She completed her undergraduate degree at University of Michigan and medical school at Michigan State University followed by her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Michigan. She completed pediatric critical care fellowship at Lurie Children's Hospital/Northwestern in Chicago then returned to Children's Hospital of Michigan as faculty in the pediatric critical care division for 8 years. During her time at Children's Hospital of Michigan she served as medical director of the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit and played an active role in medical education, simulation, and quality improvement. Her clinical research has focused on ECMO anticoagulation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation science as the co-investigator for the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Collaborative Pediatric Critical Care Research Network. In July 2021, she joined the critical care division at Duke.
