Dr. Lakshmann Krishnamurti, is Professor Pediatrics and Chief of Section of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT at Yale School of Medicine. He is a pediatric hematologist oncologist of over 25 years standing with a primary research focus interest in sickle cell disease (SCD). Dr. Krishnamurti’s main areas of interest are clinical and patient-centered outcomes research in SCD. His areas of focus include pain, newborn screening, community and international outreach, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and gene therapy. His research has been funded by NHLBI, NICHD, CDC, HRSA, PCORI, Cooley’s Anemia Foundation and Abraham and Phyllis Katz Foundation. He is currently the PI of an NHLBI U01 grant for a multicenter study of HCT for young adults with SCD.
