Overview:
Engaging the media for advocacy: Tools for effective communication for Pediatric advocacy

Objectives:
To increase awareness and education for pediatric providers

Dr. David Hill is a hospitalist pediatrician, author, podcaster, and speaker who has served the American Academy of Pediatrics in the past as Chair of the Council on Communications and Media. Currently he is Chair of the AAP Council Management Committee, co-host of the Pediatrics on Call podcast, Associate Editor of Patient Education for AAP Pediatric Care Online, Associate Medical Editor of Caring for Your Baby and Young Child: Birth to Age 5, and an official AAP spokesperson. Dr. Hill’s other books include Dad to Dad: Parenting Like a Pro and Coparenting Through Separation and Divorce: Putting Your Children First. He works as a hospitalist pediatrician at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro, NC as well as at UNC Children’s Health in Wilmington, NC and as a primary care pediatrician at Wilmington’s MedNorth Community Health Center. He serves both the UNC School of Medicine and the Campbell School of Osteopathic Medicine as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.
