Bone Tumors: what to know as a pediatrician

Objectives:
To increase awareness and education for pediatric providers

Cristabel Torres, MD, FAAP. is originally from Puerto Rico. She moved to Mexico to begin her medical training, and after two years moved back to Puerto Rico to continue clinical rotations and receive her medical degree in 2015. Subsequently she did her residency in pediatrics in Puerto Rico. After residency she stayed there as a junior faculty to work as general  pediatrician on inpatient service and emergency department, as well as an outpatient clinic for a year.  She always had passion for pediatric oncology, as her older brother is a childhood cancer survivor. She then moved to San Antonio in 2020 (in the middle of COVID pandemic) to  start fellowship in Peds Heme-Onc at UT Health San Antonio and she is currently a third-year fellow and will be completing her fellowship soon.
