Objectives:
To increase awareness and education for pediatric providers

Dr. Ian Mitchell is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UT Health San Antonio and Surgeon-In-Chief, Pediatrics at UH. He is also serving as co-chair of both the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council (STRAC) pediatrics commitee and the Pediatric Trauma Society Guidelines Hub. Originally from Buffalo NY and Toronto, he went to medical school at Case Western in Cleveland. He did his General Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and two years of Pediatric Fellowship at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Long Island. He returned to Texas to San Antonio and joined a private prac􀆟ce group. A􀅌er 10 years with that group, he joined UT Health and UH. He has published extensively and given a number of presenta􀆟ons on topics in the field of pediatric surgery.
