Monocytes – The overlooked white cells –
in health and disease

Objectives:
To increase awareness and education for pediatric providers

Dr. Yaddanapudi Ravindranath is Hematologist/Oncologist and Professor of Pediatrics at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He received his MBBS degree in India and completed his pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology from the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He has practiced Pediatric Hematology Oncology for over 6 decades. He has done pioneering clinical studies and developed treatment protocols in pediatric leukemias (both ALL and AML). He also has conducted research in a broad range of nonmalignant blood disorders, particularly in congenital and autoimmune disorders of red cells. He has published extensively and given presentations at national and international conferences on topics in the field of pediatric hematology oncology.
