Overview:
The Past, Present, and Future of Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Objectives:
To increase awareness and education for pediatric providers

Dr. Brian M. Faux MD, FAAP completed his undergraduate training with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pitsburgh and a medical degree from Drexel University. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at David Grant Medical Center (in affilia􀆟on with UC Davis Medical Center) and a second residency in Child Neurology at Stanford University. He is a re􀆟red US Air Force medical corps Colonel where he had served military connected children across the world. His career experiences include roles as medical director, teaching faculty, deployment opera􀆟ons, and the program director for the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Educa􀆟on Consor􀆟um (SAUSHEC) Pediatric Residency as well as the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Educa􀆟on (GME) at SAUSHEC. He is an advocate for children with special needs having served as the consultant to the US Air Force Surgeon General for child neurology and as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) stakeholder expert in the care of children with cerebral palsy for the US Dept of Health & Human Service’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
