Updates on Management of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

Objectives:
To increase awareness and education for pediatric providers

Dr. Kristen Cares is an associate professor at the Central Michigan University School of Medicine and a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She is the program director of the pediatric gastroenterology fellowship. She is also the medical director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease program at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She is a member of the advisory board for the state chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, where she is actively involved in patient relations, education, and advocacy. Her research primarily is focused on IBD; specifically, management, epidemiology, and biomarkers, with a grant-funded clinical trial looking into the utility of infliximab proactive therapeutic drug monitoring.
