Overview:
Implications of Early Hyperglycemia in Extremely Low Birthweight Neonates
Objectives:
To increase awareness and education for pediatric providers
Dr. Noah Bierwirth is a sixth year NICU fellow at UT Health San Antonio. His research over the past 5 years of training focus on hyperglycemia in the extremely premature neonate and its implications for organ system function. He has presented this research at local, regional, and national conferences. After graduating from his fellowship in July of this year, he will remain on as faculty and take on the role of Assistant Program Director for the neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship program. He looks forward to remaining in San Antonio and continuing to give back to the community after 10 years of medical training at this institution.
