Diagnostic Radiology Residency
Message from the Program Director
Vibrant, dynamic, and breadth of medical knowledge are just a few characteristics inherent in the field of Radiology. These characteristics are evident in the multitude of Radiology subspecialities. Radiology has been the field most directly impacted by technology such as development of multislice CT scanners, burgeoning utilization of MRI scanners, transition from light boxes to PACS systems and the Palmaz stent. With AI on the horizon the future of technological advances in Radiology is as bright as ever, making this an even more exciting field for future radiologists.
Training residents to be the next generation of Radiologists is the foundation of our purpose as educators. In order to achieve our goal we have assembled a faculty of experienced and talented subspecialists. Our curriculum benefits from a large volume of educational material created through the diverse clinical programs at UT Health San Antonio outpatient clinics and soon to open Multispecialty Research Hospital as well as our partnership with the University Health System.
We employ a spectrum of educational tools to closely monitor resident performance and provide mentoring and guidance when resident need is identified.
San Antonio offers many attractions and amenities of a large city with a year-round temperate climate and enviable cost of living. Combine the attributes of our city with our focus on education and you have a formula for a successful and enjoyable residency experience.
