We encourage you to contact us to discuss and answer your questions regarding the APP fellowship prior to submitting your application. We have Q&A sessions on the last Tuesday of every month from 7-8pm CST.

Program Start Date

Tentatively July 2025.

February 1, 2025, for tentative July 2025.

Eligibility

Board Eligible PA or ACNP

• Can still be in training at the time of application however will need the below prior to start date

Completion of an accredited PA or ACNP master’s program
National board certification as a PA or ACNP
Texas licensure as a PA or ACNP
DEA licensure

Requirements

Curriculum vitae

• At the end of the CV, please include the names and contact information of the individuals that will provide your letters of recommendation, and your professional relationship to them.

Statement of Interest (1-2 pages)

• Statement to include:
  • Why would you like to be a part of the fellowship?
  • How would your personal life experiences, background, or perspectives enrich and contribute to the diversity of our fellowship?

3 Letters of Professional Recommendations

• At least one (1) must be from a clinician that supervised and observed while the candidate was caring for patients.
• Please have the letter writers include the following language: “[applicant name] has waived the applicant’s right to review this letter prior to submission.” Letters should be emailed as .pdf to (hmappfellowship@uthscsa.edu) directly from the letter writer.

Transcripts

• Unofficial from your PA or ACNP program is acceptable and preferred.

Please note that we do not accept applicants who are on J1 visas.

This fellowship has no guarantee of faculty employment beyond the fellowship period nor are graduates required to commit to positions here at UT Health San Antonio Hospital Medicine after graduation.
