This research highlights a crucial connection between kidney disease and brain health. The team found that quinolinic acid, a byproduct of tryptophan metabolism, builds up in the plasma kidney and brain during kidney failure, associated with inflammation and potential damage.

These insights open new possibilities for better diagnosing and understanding of neurological complications in kidney disease.

Congratulations to Dr. Saliba and the multidisciplinary teams for this valuable contribution!
