Brooke Lajeunesse, MD, Joins Department as Neurocritical Care fellow

The Department of Neurosurgery is proud to welcome Brooke Lajeunesse, MD, as our new UCNS Neurocritical Care fellow.

Brooke Lajeunesse is an Emergency Medicine physician in the United States Air Force. As a Health Professions Scholarship Program Recipient, she commissioned into the Air Force in 2017; she was inspired by her father, an Air Force helicopter pilot who retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Growing up in the Air Force, she lived all over the world but finally settled in Fort Walton Beach, FL and later obtained her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Medicine from Florida State University.

Following medical school, Dr. Lajeunesse entered active duty at Brooke Army Medical Center where she completed her Emergency Medicine residency. Dr. Lajeunesse was selected as a Neurocritical Care Fellow at UT Health San Antonio and will complete her fellowship in June of 2026. She hopes to incorporate her medical training into her active-duty Air Force career as a Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) physician. Dr. Lajeunesse is supported by her accomplished husband, Robert Lajeunesse, another active-duty military member who serves in the Army as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer.
