Dr. Burma Publishes New Paper Exploring Specificity of Action by Resection Enzymes

Sandeep Burma, Ph.D., recently published a paper in Nature Communications in collaboration with Patrick Sung, DPhil, from the Department of Biochemistry and Structural Biology. Their paper explores the specificity of action by resection enzymes to correct DNA double-strand breaks.

The knowledge gained from this study could one day help improve the efficacy of cancer treatments. Co-authors from the Department of Neurosurgery include Nozomi Tomimatsu, Ph.D., and Bipasha Mukherjee, Ph.D.
