Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Application Process
Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas. If there are any questions regarding this in the application process, inquiries should be made directly to the Texas Medical Board. Our fellowship program participates in the National Resident Matching Program and the Electronic Residency Application System. Only applications submitted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) will be considered (Program name: University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Joe and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, Maternal-Fetal Medicine). Candidates are selected on the basis of their application, transcript, letters of recommendation, and interviews.
The following items must be received through the ERAS system (accessible at your Dean’s office, or for foreign medical graduates through the ECFMG) by April 28, 2025 in order for your application process to be complete and considered in the first group of interview invitations:
- Completed ERAS Application
- Curriculum Vitae
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (“Dean’s Letter”)
- Medical School Transcript
- Three letters of recommendation (1 must be from OB/GYN Residency program director)
- USMLE score transcript (if osteopathic candidate, COMLEX score transcript)
- CREOG Scores (PGY1-PGY3)
- Personal Statement
- Photograph
Applicants who are judged to be competitive after review of their credentials will be invited for interview. In accordance with the SMFM recommended guidelines for the 2025 interview season. Initial interview invitations will be sent out on May 19, 2025 in accordance with the recommendation from SMFM. All interviews for the 2025 MFM fellowship interviews will be virtual. We will not be planning to offer in-person interviews.
