Message From Our Program Director

Jason SchillerstromWhat does it mean to be a psychiatry resident at UT Health San Antonio? It means to join a group of individuals who care. We care for veterans. We care for active duty service men and women. We care for our community, for college students, for health professions students, and for children and elders. We care for those suffering from addiction, from Alzheimer’s disease, from bipolar disorder, from autism, and from schizophrenia. We care for the incarcerated, for the homeless, and the dependent. We care for every patient in our region who survives a serious suicide attempt – the burns, the falls, the ingestions, and the shots. We care for those piecing their bodies, mind, and soul back together. We care for those who cannot or do not yet care for themselves. We care for our residents and faculty, who care for their families and friends, who care for them. We care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We never stop caring, supporting, and mentoring. Join us.
