The journey begins with an immersive intern bootcamp, instilling the essential skills of a
compassionate and competent physician. Dive deeper into the world of mental health with our
core didactic series on psychopathology and psychopharmacology, providing a framework of
diagnoses and treatment. Our residents receive early training in psychotherapy through the

In the second year, our didactics elevate therapy training through courses on cognitivebehavioral
therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Simultaneously, our clinical exposure to psychiatry sub-specialties is enriched through the
“Special Topics in Psychiatry” series, which delves into Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,
Geriatric Psychiatry, Substance Use Disorders and Addiction Medicine, as well as Human
Sexuality & LGBTQ+. These invaluable learning opportunities ensure our residents gain a wellrounded

The third year focuses on advancing knowledge and promoting leadership. To supplement their
longitudinal outpatient clinics, residents learn of community mental health at the local, state,
and national level. Residents collaborate This is supported by a longitudinal QI course where
third year residents team up to create actionable quality improvement projects for their
respective clinics to better serve their patients. Residents then complete an Advanced
Psychopharmacology course on evidence-based practice guidelines for the treatment of mental
illness. Residents also complete an advanced neuroscience course to understand the complex
neuroanatomy and neurocircuitry to explain behavior and psychopathology. The year ends with
insightful introductions to Cultural Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry, preparing our residents

n the fourth year, our program offers advanced psychiatry training, equipping our graduates to
excel in diverse clinical settings. The year commences with a seminar on medical economics,
billing, and the transition to practice, ensuring our residents are well-prepared for real-world
challenges. Expanding knowledge on Women’s Mental Health, Forensic Psychiatry, and Cultural
Psychiatry empowers our residents with a comprehensive understanding of specialized areas.
Additionally, therapy training concludes with exposure to PE/Trauma Focused Psychotherapy
