GRADUATE AND POSTDOCTORAL (T32) CANCER BIOLOGY TRAINING PROGRAM

What is the training grant?

The NCI T32 Cancer Biology Training Program at the University of Texas Health San Antonio receives an institutional Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (T32 CA 148724) from NIH/NCI to fund the Cancer Biology Training Program, and provides rigorous, multidisciplinary training for predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows (Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., and D.O.) pursuing careers in basic, translational, and clinical cancer research. This program provides a highly integrated and innovative training environment that prepares trainees to compete successfully for independent funding, advance discoveries across the cancer research continuum, and become future leaders in cancer research, translational medicine, and therapeutic development. Through a combination of rigorous scientific training, individualized mentorship, and comprehensive career development, the program has consistently succeeded in preparing trainees to become independent investigators and future leaders in cancer research.
