Academic Support
The program offers several non-credit activities such as:
- Introduction to “Strategies for Effective Learning”, focused on study skills for success, active listening, time management and stress management, along with LASSI prescriptions
- Presentations by clinical faculty discussing their specialties
- Regular one-on-one meetings with assigned faculty mentor and Program Director for professional and academic advising
- Advice on selection of medical schools and guidance on the medical school application process
- Mock Medical School Admissions Interview
- Assistance for personal essay writing, resume writing
- Preparation of composite letter of recommendation (preferred by many medical schools)
- Information and guidance on volunteering activities at UT Health-affiliated hospitals or research laboratories
- Career development activities organized by the graduate school
