Our nephrologists care for patients with end-stage kidney failure in four outpatient hemodialysis clinics in San Antonio. The Nephrology Division at UT Health prides itself for the comprehensive, compassionate and exceptional care delivered to our patients. A testimony to the quality of care delivered to our patients is the continued attainment of 5-star rating by all four outpatient dialysis units served by UT Nephrologists, under the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services’ (CMS) Dialysis Facility Compare (DFC) program. The DFC program assigns 1 to 5 stars to a particular dialysis facility by comparing the reported outcomes with other dialysis facilities nationwide. This rating is achieved by less than 10% of dialysis units nationwide and is granted by the CMS to those units where quality of care delivered is ‘well above average’. We have attained and maintained the 5-star rating since the inception of the program in 2015.
