Fourth Year Residents

James Bunch, MD
Dr. James Bunch was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. He received his Master of Science in Medical Education from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2018. He was awarded his MD degree in 2022 from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine where he was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. During medical school he also received his Master of Business Administration in Health Organization Management from the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University. Outside of medicine he enjoys cooking, grilling, gardening, and exploring the Texas hill country.

Luis Carrillo, MD
Dr. Luis Carrillo was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Saint Mary’s University. Afterwards, he attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston and graduated in 2022 as a UTMB Translational Research Scholar. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, creating art, and spending time with his wife, dog (named Oreo!), family, & friends.

Nathalie Chang, MD
Dr. Nathalie Chang is from Orlando, Florida. She graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Art in Chemistry. Afterward, she attended medical school at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine and received her M.D. in 2022 with Cum Laude. Her interests outside of medicine include tennis, pickleball, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.

Kelly Deininger, DO
Dr. Kelly Deininger graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Bioethics. She then attended medical school at the A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona and graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022. Her professional interests include caring for the LGBTQ community, patient advocacy, global health, and surgical care. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, exercising, cooking, and going on adventures with her significant other and two rescue dogs.

Carah Griffin, MD
Dr. Carah Griffin grew up in Port Arthur, Texas (Land of the Trill). She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin in 2016. She received her Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2022. A few of her interests outside of academic medicine include cooking, dominating board game nights, shower karaoke, going to concerts/festivals, spending time with her friends and family, and enjoying the idea of going on hikes.

Erik Holder, MD
Dr. Erik Holder is from Upland, Indiana. He graduated from Calvin University (Grand Rapids, MI) in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He then completed a combination MD/MPH degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2022. His academic interests include working in underserved populations, maternal-fetal medicine, global health, LGBTQ+/gender medicine, and compassionate and equitable care for everyone. Outside of medicine he enjoys traveling, triathlon competitions, breweries, and exploring restaurants with family and friends.

Lauren Kubas, MD
Dr. Lauren Kubas graduated from Arizona State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. She attended medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia and received her Medical Doctorate in 2022. Dr. Kubas matched with her husband, who is completing his Radiology residency at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter (Elle), two rescue dogs (Sadie and Maisie), playing board games, and traveling.

Marielle Wilkerson, MD
Dr. Marielle Wilkerson graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, receiving her M.D. in 2022. In her free time she enjoys cooking, gardening, and exploring new restaurants with her family and friends.
Third Year Residents

Samantha Alvarado, MD
Dr. Samantha G. Alvarado is from Weslaco, TX. She graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande with her Bachelor of Science in Biology double minor in Chemistry and Medical Spanish. She then continued to on to receive her Master of Science in Health Science with a focus in Health Care Administration. Her medical degree was earned from University of Texas Rio Grande School of Medicine. Outside of medicine, her interests include, songwriting, spending time with family and friends, all things reality TV, and exploring new coffee shops.

Shannon Chappel, MD
Dr. Shannon Chappel grew up in Woodstock, GA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Minor in Spanish from the Georgia Institute of Technology University in 2017. She then moved to San Antonio and served as a Teach for America Corps member, teaching middle school science for 2 years. She went on to complete her M.D. at the Medical College of Georgia in 2023. Her career goals include working with underserved populations in medicine, and teaching residents and medical students. In her free time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband. She is always excited to explore new restaurants with friends and spend time outside hiking or playing pickleball.

Alicia Davidson, DO
Dr. Alicia Davidson was born and raised in Killdeer, North Dakota, and graduated from Black Hills State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Afterward, she attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University where she earned her medical degree in 2023. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, hiking, exploring new restaurants, playing board games, and spending time with her husband and two mini-goldendoodles, Oslo and Kona.

Lindsay Garner, MD
Dr. Lindsay Garner was raised in Coronado, California, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2017. She subsequently earned her M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys biking San Antonio’s Greenway trails, trying out new fitness classes, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, and spending time with her two cats, Phoebe and Josie.

Autumn Greenfield, MD
Dr. Autumn Greenfield was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After high school, she was selected as a Cornelius Vanderbilt scholar which awarded her a full-tuition scholarship as well as admission to Vanderbilt’s honors college. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Spanish. After taking a gap year to conduct research and volunteer as a Spanish medical interpreter, she went on to complete her M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2023. Her academic interests include health care access and quality, medical education, and mentorship. Outside of medicine, she enjoys indoor cycling, latin dancing, baking sweet treats, and spending time with her family.

McKenzi Poehl, MD
Dr. McKenzi Poehl grew up in Katy, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She earned her M.D. in 2023 from The University of Texas Medical Branch where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, baking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Claire Schenken, MD
Dr. Claire Schenken was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and the University of Texas with a Master of Public Health in Health Education and Health Promotion. She attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where she received her medical degree in 2023. Academic interests include reproductive endocrinology and infertility, adolescent health, and social determinants of health. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, pickleball, and spending time with friends and dogs, especially her French Bulldog, Tito!

Siena Shepherd, MD
Dr. Siena Shepherd grew up in Houston, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University where she studied chemistry, psychology, and neuroscience as a University Scholar in the Honors College. She then attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where she earned her M.D. in 2023. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, spending time with her husband, and exploring new restaurants with family and friends.
Second Year Residents

Maribel Castro, MD
Dr. Maribel Castro grew up in Garland, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She then attended Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock where she received her M.D. in 2024. In her free time, Maribel enjoys running, keeping her houseplants alive, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and her three dogs.

Jonathan Desposorio, MD
Dr. Jonathan “Jonny” Desposorio grew up in Katy, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Philosophy from Dallas Baptist University. After graduation, Jonny spent a year working for Bios Partners, a venture capital firm in Fort Worth, Texas, focused on funding early-stage and growth-stage biotech and biotherapeutic companies. Jonny completed his M.D. at UT Health San Antonio in 2024. In his free time, Jonny enjoys playing golf, playing chess, watching Formula 1, CrossFit, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife and mini-Bernedoodle, Scottie.

Paige Graves, MD
Dr. Paige Graves grew up in Arlington, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 2019. She attended medical school at Joe R. And Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio,
where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2024. Her academic interests include improving health literacy in vulnerable populations and teaching medical students. Outside of medicine, she enjoys being outdoors, exercising, spending time with her husband, and hanging out with family and friends.

Theresa Heines, MD
Dr. Theresa (Tessa) Heines was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from University of the Incarnate Word with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018. After graduation, she attended The George Washington University’s Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical program and worked as a pediatric nurse in Northern Virginia. She then returned to Texas and attended UT Health San Antonio Joe and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine where she received her M.D. in 2024. Her professional interests include caring for marginalized communities, infectious disease, global health and reproductive justice. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, being with her friends and family, traveling, spending time with her
cat, and taking care of her houseplants.

Andrew Masciarella, MD
Dr. Andrew Masciarella hails from the small boating community of Lighthouse Point, Florida, and is a three-time graduate (triple ‘Cane) of the University of Miami. He completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, graduating magna cum laude and earning induction into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. As one of only eight college sophomores selected for the invitation-only Medical Scholars Program, Dr. Masciarella secured early admission to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he pursued a dual-degree MD/MBA program. There, he led transformative initiatives in the Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Department of Community Service (DOCS), developing a robust patient navigation program that increased healthcare access and continuity of care for uninsured and undocumented patients across South Florida — two areas he is deeply passionate about. His medical interests include minimally invasive surgery, reproductive endocrinology, and exploring the intersections of artificial intelligence, technology, and architecture with medicine. He also finds pleasure in the business of medicine, specifically process and quality improvement. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Masciarella enjoys crafting pasta with his parrot Sonny, photographing architectural wonders, charcuterie nights, playing pinball, banking for Monopoly, listening to various music genres, traveling, and (mini) golfing.

Ashlyn Parkhurst, MD
Dr. Ashlyn Parkhurst grew up in East Texas and then attended Mississippi State University in 2019, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. Ashlyn then moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she was involved in basic science research in pediatric neuro-oncolgy. In 2020, Ashlyn began medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, where she graduated in 2024 as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Parkhurst is particularly interested in adolescent health, maternal mental health, reproductive rights, and serving underserved patient populations. In her free time, Ashlyn enjoys spending time with her friends and loved ones, playing with her dog Kooper, and taking group fitness classes.

Andrea Parra, MD
Dr. Andrea Parra was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and grew up in Madrid, Spain. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida Atlantic University in 2018. She completed her M.D. at San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Caguas, Puerto Rico, graduating with honors Cum Laude in 2024. Her career goals include improving effective, patient-centered
communication with patients with language barriers, quality improvement research, and addressing health disparities and equity. Outside of medicine, she loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, enjoy a good group fitness class, and dance!

Aimee Seale, DO
Dr. Aimee Seale is from Ogden, UT. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, where she studied biology, humanities, and philosophy as a University Scholar in the Honors College. She then attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where she earned her medical degree in 2024. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, being with her friends and family, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Fizz.

Diana Toro, MD
Dr. Diana Toro completed her undergraduate studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish. She subsequently earned her M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in 2024. Her career interests include tumor genetics, immunotherapy, medical education, and minimally invasive robotic surgery. Outside of medicine, she enjoys sand volleyball, playing the ukulele, scuba diving, and cuddling with her chihuahua.
First Year Residents

Zuha Alam, MD
Dr. Zuha Alam was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in Murphy, Texas (she’s a Texan at heart). She majored in Biomedical Engineering but realized that she was drawn more to the humanistic side of healthcare. She then attended medical school here at UT Health San Antonio where she fell in love with the field of OB/GYN for its ability to blend medicine and art to not only treat patients, but to advocate for them as well. As a daughter of immigrants, it was always important to Dr. Alam to work towards empowering underserved and underrepresented women to take charge of their own health.
When she’s not busy being a resident, Dr. Alam loves to hang out with old and new friends, go to an antique store, write poetry, create art, and FaceTime her long-distance cats Sufi and Rumi.

Daniel Amram, MD
Dr. Daniel Amram is originally from Alpharetta, Georgia, a suburb just outside of Atlanta. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019 with a degree in Biology. Following his undergraduate studies, he dedicated a year of service through AmeriCorps, working with the working uninsured and underserved populations in Memphis, Tennessee. He went on to earn a master’s degree in pharmacology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he also completed his medical school training in May 2025.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Amram enjoys discovering new coffee shops, running, hosting game nights with friends, and watching re-runs of Scrubs.

Katherine Armstrong, MD
Dr. Katherine Armstrong was born and raised in Ogallala, Nebraska. She graduated from University of Michigan in 2014 with dual degrees in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Public Health. She served as a Community Health Promoter in the border region of the Dominican Republic with the Peace Corps from 2015 – 2017. She attended San Juan Bautista School of Medicine where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and graduated with honors Cum Laude in 2025. Outside the hospital she loves to explore outdoors, travel, and adventures with her rescue dog Mambo.

Hailey Campo, MD
Dr. Hailey Campo grew up in Mandeville, LA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Alabama. She then earned her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2025. Her academic interests include caring for marginalized communities, improving health literacy, and finding ways to make healthcare more accessible to everyone. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, spending time with her two goldendoodles, hosting game nights, and working out.

Emily Dubuisson, MD
Dr. Emily Dubuisson is from Slidell, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2021. She went to medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and received her M.D. in 2025. Emily’s professional interests include maternal fetal medicine, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and medical education. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family and friends.

Karen Jimenez, MD
Dr. Karen Jimenez grew up right here, in San Antonio, Texas. She left Texas temporarily to go to the University of Notre Dame (G’Irish!) where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. After braving the cold, she returned to Texas to conduct neuropharmacology addiction research during her gap year. She then attended medical school at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School where she earned her MD and her Master of Arts in Design Focused in Health. In medical school, Dr. Jimenez helped lead design projects focused on making fertility care more equitable and accessible to people experiencing social infertility. Her medical interests include, reproductive rights, serving underserved patient populations, urogynecology, LGBTQ+ care, and language-concordant patient care. Outside of medicine, Dr. Jimenez loves indulging in eclectic online fiction reading, floating in a pool or a river, thrift shopping for trinkets, and enjoying time with friends and family.

Monika Karki, MD
Dr. Monika Karki was born in Lalitpur, Nepal and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her family now resides in south Florida. She graduated from Rice University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering. Afterward, she attended Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine and received her M.D. in 2025. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones; this includes taking long walks outside, traveling across the globe, and trying new recipes together.

Camille Liston, MD
Dr. Camille Liston completed her Bachelor of Science in Public Health at the University of Texas before earning her MD/MPH at UT Health Science Center San Antonio. She is passionate about reproductive justice, global health, and advancing community-based care to improve women’s health outcomes. Outside of medicine, Camille enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and hosting friends and family for home-cooked meals.

Jacqueline Moreno, MD
Dr. Jacqueline (Jackie) Moreno grew up in Chandler, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. She moved to Texas to attend medical school at UT Health San Antonio, Long School of Medicine where she graduated with her Medical Doctorate in 2025. Her professional interests include patient advocacy, reproductive justice, adolescent health, and caring for marginalized communities. Outside of the hospital Dr. Moreno enjoys cheering for her Arizona sports teams, going to concerts with her boyfriend, backpacking through Big Bend, or eating her way through Texas Monthly’s Top 50 BBQ joints.
