Bone & Soft Tissue Sarcoma Program

Our Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Program is the premier treatment center for children and adolescents in Central and South Texas.  The program provides state-of-the-art clinical care combining the expertise of board-certified physicians from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, UT Kids, and the facilities and resources of the University Healthcare System.

Patients treated by our Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Program benefit from a multidisciplinary approach to these types of tumors.  The primary treatment team is composed of pediatric oncologists, pediatric orthopedic oncologists, pediatric nurse practitioners, radiation oncologists, social workers, a clinical psychologist, a prosthetist, child life specialists, and physical therapists.

Our orthopaedic oncologic surgeons have extensive experience in limb-salvage and reconstruction techniques.  We participate in clinical research and offer the most current treatment options to patients through the Children’s Oncology Group (COG).  We also provide long-term follow-up through our Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Program and our childhood cancer survivorship program.
